Tom Carroll - District Governor 2017-2018

Tom Carroll was born and raised in Seattle. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and a Masters Degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. Tom was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy in 1981, and retired as a Captain after a 30-year career in Special Intelligence and Surface Warfare. Tom is the President and CEO of Tiburon Systems LLC, a firm specializing in network telecommunications, engineering management, project management and information technology. Tom formerly held senior executive positions with Accenture PLC (formerly Andersen Consulting). Tom has served as a director on several boards, including the Lacey Chamber of Commerce, The Pacific Harbors Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Leadership Thurston County.
Tom joined Rotary in 2008, and served as Charter President of Gateway Rotary. Tom has held the positions of Club Director of International Service, Club President (two terms), Assistant Governor and District Council Chairman. He is chairing the District 5020 Conference for 2016, and is Chairman of the PNW PETS Board of Directors. Tom is a recipient of the Cliff Dochterman Award, the Avenues of Service Citation, and he received the Gold Membership Sponsor Award for sponsoring eight new Rotarians in 2013-2014.
Laurie was born and raised in Washington. She graduated from Washington State University and is a Registered Pharmacist. Tom and Laurie are members of Gateway Rotary, and are Major Donors, Benefactors, and members of the Paul Harris Society and Bequest Society. Married for 29 years, they have two adult children, both UW graduates. Amanda owns an information technology firm, is a member of Gateway Rotary and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Sean is a former Rotaractor, and currently is serving in the United States Navy
